Method 1
Affinity Mapping
We grouped raw observations from user research into clusters of related themes. This allowed us to identify patterns in user frustrations that weren’t visible at the individual data-point level.

Method 2
Empathy Mapping
We mapped what users think, feel, say, and do to build a holistic picture of their emotional state throughout the BoardSpace experience. This helped us prioritize pain points by emotional weight, not just frequency.

Method 3
User Flows
We mapped the step-by-step paths users took to complete core tasks — creating an agenda, recording minutes, and managing meeting documents — identifying exactly where drop-offs and confusion occurred.
Task 1: We need to have a meeting
Make an Agenda Template
A reusable template customized for a specific meeting. It must be created before the meeting is created, or it won’t be available for use.

Task 2: The Recording Secretary needs to take the minutes
Record the Minutes
The Recording Secretary is responsible for capturing meeting minutes in real time. This flow outlines the steps taken to record, review, and submit minutes during and after a meeting.

Method 4
Personas
We built representative personas from interview transcripts and behavioral data to ground design decisions in real user archetypes — ensuring we were solving for the right people.
Persona 1
Bob H.

Persona 2
Dionne C.
